Vancouver police introduce new program for volunteers to spot suspicious activity | Local News

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) – The Vancouver Police Division is encouraging pet homeowners to hitch a brand new program that trains volunteers to identify suspicious exercise and look out for his or her neighborhood.

It is known as “Paws on Patrol,” and this system coordinator says volunteers are educated on what to search for on their walks, when to name 911 or 311, and how one can report vandalism.

FOX 12 spoke to a volunteer, Mike Anderson and his canine Lucy. He says he has been amassing trash at his native park for years and when he heard concerning the new program he determined to enroll. “When Jordan offered this system, I assumed we had been there. I imply, we’re right here for an hour a day anyway, we go for a stroll and we clear up the trash and simply attempt to maintain the park clear and report any type of vandalism or different issues we see out and in of the park, ”mentioned Anderson .

To this point, 84 volunteers have signed up, in response to the Vancouver Police Division’s volunteer program.
