“The widespread vibrant objects within the sky have been the particles from a second stage Falcon 9 missile that was unsuccessfully burned into orbit,” wrote the Nationwide Climate Service in Seattle.
NWS was referring to a tweet from Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist on the Harvard-Smithsonian Heart for Astrophysics, who said that the lights have been really particles from a rocket re-entering the Earth’s ambiance.
