Memorial Day event set May 31 at Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks

A Memorial Day memorial service can be held in Vancouver on Monday, Could thirty first, to honor service members who’ve died whereas on responsibility.

The commemoration in southwest Washington is hosted by the Neighborhood Navy Appreciation Committee, the Metropolis of Vancouver, Clark County, the Nationwide Park Service, and the Historic Belief. It takes place at 11am on the Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks at 600 Hatheway Street

The ceremony will embody feedback from Meredith McMackin, a Gold Star mom who misplaced her son in Iraq. Different audio system included Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, Clark County Councilor Gary Medvigy, and Nationwide Park Service Superintendent Tracy Fortmann.

The music is performed by Officer Rey Reynolds and the 204th Military Band. Following the ceremony, the social gathering will lay a wreath on the Clark County Warfare Memorial with taps and a gun salute.
