Letter: Thanks to school architect
I’m scripting this letter about my brother, so some might imagine that he’s biased. It’s not.
Todd Horenstein has spent the previous 38 years (retiring June 30) devoting himself to planning and managing the development of faculties within the Vancouver College District value $ 1 billion (sure, billion).
Because the Architect and Assistant Superintendent of Services, Todd was the first level of contact, taking calls, emails, and visiting open homes concerning the amenities throughout their design and building. Some calls, emails, and open homes have been nice, others not so nice.
The place most of us see buildings, Todd sees locations that enable college students to get essentially the most out of their studying experiences and allow lecturers to assist college students obtain their targets. For these of us who attended colleges in Vancouver within the Sixties and Seventies, we might solely dream of those new amenities.
Todd approached his work as he approaches life: calm, measured {and professional}, he by no means seeks recognition for what he has achieved.
Maybe the following time you drive by or step into certainly one of these world-class buildings, you may say a quiet “thanks, Todd”.
