VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) – Police are investigating an tried kidnapping on the Vancouver Mall on Saturday.
In accordance with police, 49-year-old Steven Hayes approached a 14-year-old in a store within the mall.
In accordance with police, Hayes grabbed the sufferer, threatened to kill them and tried to pull them off the premises.
Police say {the teenager} struggled and Hayes ran away.
Good Samaritans persecuted him and held him till the officers arrived.
The youth was not injured within the incident.
Hayes, a Vancouver resident, has been detained within the Clark County Jail for Kidnapping I, Assault II, and Harassment.
In accordance with the police, Hayes has a prison document for kidnapping.
