Albert Anders Dzur died in Portland on Saturday, December fifth, simply 4 days earlier than his 92nd birthday. Born and raised in Chicago, Al had a ardour for classical music, science and discovery, and the outside. A few of his happiest childhood reminiscences come from working together with his uncles and cousins on a household farm in Indiana. In highschool, he sang within the choir, performed the violin, swam, and was guarded by Lake Michigan. One summer season he traveled west to battle forest fires. After two years within the Military visiting Hawaii and Japan and leaping off airplanes, he attended Northwestern College and Iowa State College earlier than shifting to Los Angeles with the love of his life, Carolyn. Ultimately, Al settled in Santa Barbara and began a profitable impartial contractor. He was closely concerned in public service and took satisfaction in his work getting the Santa Barbara Metropolis Zoo out of the automobile seat and his early promotion of inexperienced structure. Along with his faculty roommate, he grew to become a wonderful passion winemaker. When Al retired, Al moved to Salem, Oregon, the place his passions for winemaking, horticulture, and climbing forest and ocean trails continued.
A rare, beneficiant man with as many pursuits as skills, he will likely be missed by his loving household and will likely be remembered for a very long time: Mrs. Carolyn Dzur from Salem, OR; Son Paul Dzur and daughter-in-law Veronika Pecher-Dzur from Tromsø, NO; Daughter Claire Harkness and son-in-law Allan Harkness from Tulsa, OK; Daughter Andrea Farnum and son-in-law Howard Farnum from Vancouver, WA; Son Albert W. Dzur of Bowling Inexperienced, Ohio; Grandsons Alanna, Alexander, Alexandra, Arthur, Felix, Florian, Henry, Kiran, Maxwell and Neena; and great-grandson Triston.
