Betty Carolyn Harding, 89, of Port Townsend died peacefully on June 21, 2021. She was a devoted spouse, mom, and grandmother, and a servant of her church and group.
Betty was born on March 25, 1932 in Vancouver, Washington, to Dr. Arthur Ok. Harris and Ruth L. Harris had been born. She grew up in Camas, Washington, and graduated from Camas Excessive Faculty in 1950. She was energetic in Scouting and was a superb pupil all through her faculty years. She continued her training on the College of Washington, the place she graduated with a BS in Vitamin cum laude in 1954. She interned and labored at Harborview Hospital in Seattle and later at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia.
Betty married the love of her life, Roger Alan Harding, on October 20, 1956. They met on a blind date whereas finding out at UW. Roger was a ranger for Washington State. They raised their three kids Joan, Janice and Ronald at Olympia. After their kids grew up, they spent the primary years of their retirement as Peace Corps volunteers in Senegal, West Africa. Betty and Roger had been energetic within the Presbyterian Church, each with the United Church buildings in Olympia and the First Presbyterian Church in Port Townsend. At Olympia, Betty deliberate and cooked many giant meals and served as much as 200 individuals at a time. In Port Townsend she sewed banners and quilts with prayers and locations and helped the place she was wanted.

Betty loved quilting and was a member of Cabin Fever Quilters. She was additionally a member of the Admiralty Inlet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved cooking and entertaining her household and associates. Baking bread was their specialty.
Betty is survived by her brother Arthur Ok. Harris, Jr. of Mount Vernon, Washington; their kids, Joanie (Eric) Hendricks of Brinnon, Washington; Janice Rank (Brian) of Rio Rico, Arizona; and Ron Harding from Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Additionally from her three grandchildren Raymond Hendricks, Jasper Hendricks and Claire Leveck. Roger beforehand handed away on August 14, 2019.
Betty and Roger watched the sundown behind Mount Townsend from their dwelling for 26 years. In addition they loved climbing up excessive many, many instances and taking within the views.
